Ferguson, Schetelich & Ballew, P.A. (originally known as Ferguson, Schetelich, Heffernan & Murdock, P.A.) was formed in February 1996 from an established litigation department at another Baltimore law firm. One of our founding partners, M. Brooke Murdock, was appointed Associate Judge of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City in October, 1997. Craig F. Ballew joined the Firm from Smith, Somerville & Case in January, 1998. Our offices are located near Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.

Our lawyers handle cases in trial courts and administrative agencies in every county of the State of Maryland, the Maryland appellate courts, in the U.S. District Courts in the Northern Division (Baltimore City) and the Southern Division (Greenbelt, Maryland), and the Federal appellate courts. Several of the attorneys are also admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia and regularly handle cases there in both the Superior Court for the District of Columbia and the U.S. District Court.
Although the Firm’s lawyers are established by reputation and experience, the Firm also relies on the latest technology in computers and software for both business and litigation services. Using case management based software, each lawyer, paralegal and staff member has the ability to interact electronically with clients employing a "shared electronic file" concept, e-mail, internet e-mail and other interactive software which allows efficient collaboration with clients nationwide. These tools have increased our efficiency and productivity, and furthered our ability to provide high quality legal services to our clients at competitive rates.
