Robert L. Ferguson, Jr. and Peter J. Basile represented the Baltimore Ravens Football Club, Inc., a professional football team, which was sued by Plaintiffs alleging that Defendant was responsible for the condition of a ramp at Memorial Stadium on which Plaintiff fell sustaining a fracture of his ankle that required surgery. After carefully investigating the incident and circumstances surrounding the use of Memorial Stadium by the Baltimore Ravens, the attorneys filed a Motion for Summary Judgment arguing that the Baltimore Ravens were not possessors of the property but were mere licensees who were not responsible for the condition of the property or for warning of the property’s condition. Defendants also argued that Plaintiff was contributorily negligent and/or assumed the risk of his injuries because he was fully aware of the condition of the ramp and voluntarily took it upon himself to use the ramp. Following the hearing, the court granted the Summary Judgment motion holding that the Ravens exercised no control over the property, and that, even if the Ravens controlled the property, Plaintiff assumed the risk of his injuries. This matter is presently on appeal.
